In 2016, everything is changing

Friday, April 08, 2016

It’s often the case that getting 100 CV’s down to 10 isn’t the problem; it’s easy enough to sift good CV’s from bad.

The problem comes at the interview stage, when you must endeavour to assess the past, present and future behaviours of the candidate.

Past: you’ll have CV’s, references, medical histories and criminal records perhaps.

Present: you’ll judge a person on their appearance, demeanour, confidence, intellect, personality, communication abilities etc, etc.

Future: you’ll make an educated guess based on what you see and hear. But it’s still a guess.

It’s true to say that Family Offices and Executive Human Resource Recruitment Agencies do everything they can to protect their high-profile clients from staffing mistakes.

But in 2016, everything is changing.

It’s not good enough anymore for prestigious clients to assume that the odd staffing mistake is par for the course. It’s not. Staffing mistakes are avoidable.

Putting the wrong person in charge of your business, your bank account, your children, your reputation – can have devastating consequences.

Consultant Forensic Psychology entering the Executive Human Resources arena is new – and ruthlessly effective.

This uniquely investigative form of Risk Assessment is trusted by the judicial system on a global scale – in this capacity, I’ve been successfully protecting lives and livelihoods since 1996.

Via face-to-face assessment, I anticipate future behaviours based on the clinical assessment of existing personality traits. It’s the first time this sort of priceless insight has been offered to the business world.

By providing foresight, I empower clients to make knowledgeable decisions based on scientific fact and not on gut instinct.

It’s not a complex process for the client. The deliverable is a substantial report highlighting all findings - but with three killer pages covering:

  • Identification of the interviewees’ strengths and weaknesses
  • … subversive motivations
  • … primal triggers…negative characteristics
  • … and self-serving tendencies.
"We could be placing a travelling private PA for a senior member of a royal family, a Captain for one of the world’s most renowned superyachts or a live-in housekeeper and nanny for a professional high-net worth family." Quote by Samuel Martin. Founder and Global CEO of Quintessentially People (Lux WorldWide 2014)

With this degree of responsibility, no Family Office or Executive Human Resources Agency can afford to do less than everything in their power.

Reality Check

In 1995, Nick Leeson’s fraudulent and speculative trading caused the collapse of Barings Bank. The UK’s oldest merchant bank, and bank to HM The Queen, was brought to its knees by one Rogue Trader.

In 2006, John Rusnak hid US$691 million in losses at Allfirst Bank, Baltimore. His addictive personality was never identified and his amazing ability to hide his drug problem and his fraud was never suspected.

In 2015, Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed Germanwings Flight 9525, killing all 144 passengers and 6 crew. His mental health issues and suicidal tendencies went undiscovered for years by his employers.

Before today, everything that could have been done to avoid these things happening was being done.

But they still happened.

From today, everything - has changed.
