HNWI’s - protect yourself from the dangers of delegation

Thursday, July 07, 2016

For most people, there’s a physical, cerebral and emotional connection to the majority of big decisions made throughout life.

We have a hand in the selection of our home, our staff and our possessions.
This closeness to the decision making process puts the responsibility of ‘behaviour and consequence’ firmly in our court.

If something goes wrong, it’s down to us… meaning we’re far more invested in the process to begin with.

HNWI’s, in general, are cash-rich but time-poor.
This means that many decisions they would ideally wish to make themselves are either delegated or given less time.
… even when it comes to really big decisions, such as choosing those they employ to look after their interests.

This distance that a HNWI has from the decision making process, lessens the responsibility of ‘behaviour and consequence’, lessens the invested time and effort and, in turn, creates vulnerability.
The HNWI will of course trust the person or people they’re delegating to, but then everything rests on that individual’s abilities.

Recruiting for someone else takes research, knowledge and skill.
But it also takes a certain degree of speculation and gut feeling.
How can anyone know exactly what you want?

Taking back control
The recruitment process delivered by Dr Jon Dowd is highly specialised, bespoke to each client and unique in that he does know exactly what you want.

His expert experience and advice is internationally sought and accepted by Courts and those wishing to benefit from scientific Forensic Assessment - and no other forensic expert offers this service to the global business sector.

You don’t find out if someone could potentially be a thief by asking them, ‘could you steal?’ People are pre-disposed to hide negative traits.

You find out by reading between the lines, listening to what’s not said, observing body language and asking those tricky questions that standard interviews simply can’t ask. Expert Forensic techniques can reveal negative traits.

If you’re going to delegate your staffing choices to anyone in the world, delegate them to Dr Jon Dowd.

Reality Check

In 1995, Nick Leeson’s fraudulent and speculative trading caused the collapse of Barings Bank. The UK’s oldest merchant bank, and bank to HM The Queen, was brought to its knees by one Rogue Trader.

In 2006, John Rusnak hid US$691 million in losses at Allfirst Bank, Baltimore. His addictive personality was never identified and his amazing ability to hide his drug problem and his fraud was never suspected.

In 2015, Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed Germanwings Flight 9525, killing all 144 passengers and 6 crew. His mental health issues and suicidal tendencies went undiscovered for years by his employers.

Before today, everything that could have been done to avoid these things happening was being done.

But they still happened.

From today, everything - has changed.
